About Me

I was trained and certified as a Jungian analyst by the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco, where I now teach in the Analyst Training Program and the Continuing Education Program.

I am co-founder and former chair of the graduate program in transpersonal counseling psychology and former associate dean in the graduate school of holistic studies at John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, California. I have also served on the faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies, the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, and Sonoma State University. I have also lectured internationally and throughout the Western United States.

My mentors included the late James F. T. Bugental, who trained me in existential-humanistic psychotherapy, Harville Hendrix, author of Getting the Love You Want, who certified me in imago relationship therapy, and consultants in contemporary psychoanalysis.

My central interest is the intersection of spirituality and depth psychology. To this work I bring a unique synthesis of contemporary Jungian and psychodynamic therapy along with a longtime practice of meditation under Buddhist, Sufi, and mystical Christian masters.

I have taught on the intersection at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, the Jung Institute, the Community Institute for Psychotherapy in Marin County, the Psychoanalytic Institute of San Francisco, the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, and the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have also been a regular guest lecturer for the Friends of Jung in Portland, Oregon, among other venues.
